As with most computer tasks, Macs have a secret ability that is hard to discover but very easy to use: creating a new, smaller PDF from a larger PDF.

To do this, open the original PDF with Preview (usually the default PDF application for Macs). Once the file is open, make sure you can view the thumbnail page preview.

Then select multiple thumbnails, either by clicking one, holding shift, then clicking another to select all in between, or using command + click each desired page to select multiple individual pages. Then simply drag these pages to the desktop and what??, you’ve got a new PDF with only the pages you want.

If you have any questions or would like a demonstration, stop by the CLC to see Nick or Rod.
