Raising Cultural Awareness through TV Commercials and Other Authentic Materials

This presentation will provide ideas on how to raise cultural awareness and foster intercultural reflection in class through the use of authentic video materials, such as TV commercials and movie clips. Particular attention will be given to activities that encourage discussion of cultural values and perspectives, and that help students identify and deconstruct stereotypes.
